The saddle bags have been put in for repairs. It was nagging the hell out of me seeing those scrapes on the side of the bike, so my mind is really at ease now. Can't wait to get them back as the guy does a great job. I'm not getting anything different done with them, just going with straight gloss black...as usual.
We've also been getting a lot of rain over the last few days. While it's not great riding weather, it's doing wonders for getting the salt off the roads. Also, the weekend is supposed to be great. Holiday weekend and warm sunny weather? Hell yeah!

Got my first ride to work today. Still a bit nippley at 4C (39F), but it was very much needed. There are too many other personal issues going on right now and this riding season can't start soon enough.

Well, I'm not officially riding, but I have been out for a ride. Things are still a bit on the cool side here with morning temps around -8C (46F) and the roads still a bit icy.
I did get out for a ride on March 8th and 9th, but it wasn't because I wanted to. Joey brought the car in for it's MVI and it failed...in a big way. Brakes and rotors needed replacing and the topper was the oil pan. Apparently our fantastic roads found a way to scratch the shit out of the oil pan resulting in a rather bad leak. No car for us. The next two days resulted in us using the bike to get around and pick up the new oil pan. The 8th was nice and well above freezing, but the 9th was quite cold and demanded full face helmets.
On the plus side, looks like I don't need a new battery. A couple of turnovers and Selene fired right up. Now she just needs a full clean up and fluid check.

The end of February, eh? This winter can't come to an end soon enough. There's been too many problems and drama with the whole damn season and I really need to get a ride in.
On the plus side, the snow is mostly gone thanks to above freezing temperatures and plenty of rain (which was snow for everyone else).
List of things to do? Get the saddle bags repaired and a new set of rubbers. I may also have to get a new battery. My current one is from 2006 and it's never had the love of a charger. That's about it though...my little Selene is one reliable machine.

Snow that is. Finally hit on Saturday December the 5th around 6pm. I had to leave work early because of the fantastic flu that's floating around. So in between much needed sleeps I got to watch snow fall and fall and fall. At least 15cm of snow fell and the city probably dumped about 50cm of salt on it all. This put a rather giant crimp in my plans to keep riding. Sure, if the snow melts I can ride, but what about all that salt everywhere. Do I really want all my chrome melting off? I got some thinking to do...
